Yanka is a multimedia artist from Curitiba, Brazil via Cambridge, Massachusetts. Her work explores gender, sexuality, intimacy, relationships, and comfortability inspired by her journey as an immigrant. Yanka is an artist and educator who creates still and moving images, videos that seek the exploration of the female body and femininity, and images that ask alluring questions about intimacy and human connection. Shortly after graduating high school, Yanka joined the School Year Production Program as a teaching artist. Yanka's work as an education expertise was also developed from her work as an Assistant Mentor at Artist for Humanity last year. Overtime, through her ongoing involvement with the Youth Media Program, she now serves as the Youth Media Coordinator.
