This year, the SMI group of CCTV was constructed a little differently. This time, instead of dividing the group based on experience (Advanced and Beginners), we decided to divide them into three groups that would be rotating amongst three projects. The three groups are the Red Team, the Blue Team, and the Yellow Team. This year, the leaders of the red, blue, and yellow teams are the three returning CCTV Youth Members Ranea Riley-Walker, Jose Negron, and Wilgens Metelus. The theme of this year is "Identity". The projects include working on a personal narrative about a place that has shaped your identity, a documentary that talks about changing your identity, and a studio project that focuses on how local artists feel that their talents are a part of their identity. Sarah Blout-Rosenberg and Jordy Brazo are the staff leaders of the documentary project, Shaun Clarke and Julie Pan are the staff leaders of the studio project, and Neha Agrawal is the staff leader of the personal narrative project, with help from Jordy.

In the first rotation, the Red Team, led by Jose, started off by working on the documentary projects, the Blue Team, led by Ranea, started working in the studio, and the Yellow Team, led by Wilgens, started working on their personal narratives. In the second rotation, Jose's team will be working in the studio, Ranea's will be working on the personal narratives, and Wilgens' team will work on the documentary project. We're already halfway through the summer program. We have three more weeks until the screening on Thursday, August 8th. All the teams will have to work diligently and cooperatively to complete their projects in this short amount of time. We wish all of the teams the best of luck on their next projects.
