Please join us for a wonderful celebration of a century old tradition at St. Francis of Assisi in East Cambridge. There will be the traditional blessing of the bread and oil of lily on the altar which will be provided for those in attendance. We will have a guest celebrant and cantor. This tradition began in Italy and was brought here by the Italian immigrants who settled in East Cambridge. Those celebrating today are third and fourth generation descendants of those immigrants.
