Peace Be Unto You,

This evening (11/22/21) at 6:00pm I was registered to attend a Cambridge Housing Authority (CHA) ZOOM/ Virtual Quarterly Scheduled meeting with it's Low Income Tenant Client Population. Due to technicle difficult with the ZOOM connection, much of the time I was unable to engage in the virtual meeting fully, as I wished, and intended to. Tenants were supposed to supply listed items, or issues, and their experiencing as CHA residents. I had prepared a statement to present at the Quarterly meeting, but as I said technicle difficulties prevented me from presenting my issues. I will share here with my CCTV viewers and blog, bases what issues I had in mind to present to the CHA (staff) Quarterly Meeting with tenants/ residents. I feel this is a news worthy item in concord with my Citizen Journalist news gathering, and community engagement work.

The issues are as follows:

Hello Everybody, I'm Hasson Rashid, In recent months, I made two attempts and requests to obtain Tenant Training opportunities from and at the Cambridge Housing Authority (CHA). In both cases, I received questionable results. One attempt was met with no response, my right to feedback was ignored. In the second attempt, I was informed that CHA wasn't granting ACT training opportunities, a violation of tenant training participation rights. In both cases, I feel that my right to equal opportunities were also violated. In each case I was denied information. CHA is government mandated to share information.

I have heard stories from other tenants that certain staff members at the Cambridge Housing Authority were refusing to share information with low income clients. CHA has it documented in various places that it promotes equal opportunities. I have been denied and deprived of information and consultation, in regards to my failed request to obtain my rights to participate in tenant training opportunities. Giving tenants feedback is one of the most important areas in the tenant participation process, in recent months, CHA seems to have forgotten all about it.
,
Tenants training programs develop tenants to meet their individual and collective needs and enable them to fully participate. What answers do CHA offer for recently shutting others, and myself out of participating in recent training opportunities. Hopefully, you do know what I'm referring to, attendance at conferences, seminars, etc. the law now state's that tenants are equal partners with staff, and other members of the CHA mosaic. In the future, I know other tenants expect to be treated as equal partners, at the CHA, entitled to participating in equal training opportunities from CHA, Thank You.

Yours In Peace
