Action Alert: Over $300 billion in affordable housing and services funding is in jeopardy!

URGENT ACTION ALERT
Act Now to Prevent Congress from Cutting Critical Funding for Housing Infrastructure and Home and Community Based Services
The $1.75 trillion "Build Back Better Act" may not get passed! Over $300 billion in affordable housing and services funding is in jeopardy after Congressional leaders postponed a critical vote on the bill! Any delay in passing the bill will have dire consequences for communities that urgently need significant resources for increasing affordable housing and supportive services.

Some of these resources in limbo include:

Funding to build new supportive housing units and preserve affordable homes for extremely low-income households (Housing Trust Fund, Housing Investment Fund, CDBG, and HOME).
Rental assistance that will create long-term affordable rental units in supportive housing and other affordable multifamily housing (Project-Based Rental Assistance for supportive housing and other affordable multifamily housing and Tenant-Based Rental Assistance prioritized for people at risk of homelessness, survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking and trafficking survivors).
Better home and community-based services and better support for the care workforce (Medicaid Home and Community Based Services (HCBS).
Continued assistance for people transitioning out of institutionalized care settings into the home and community-based settings (permanent extension of Money Follows the Person (MFP) Rebalancing Demonstration).
New grants for implementing strategies proven to reduce community violence and keep people with behavioral health challenges out of the justice system (new justice reform initiative).
We must urge Congress to pass this critical bill! Email and call your representatives and senators – and demand that they immediately enact the Build Back Better Act and its historic investments in affordable housing and services.

Send a tweet to tell your Representative or Senators to keep housing funding in for the Build Back Better framework.

Cutting critical funding for housing programs from #BuildBackBetter cannot be an option @SpeakerPelosi and @SenSchumer. Please ensure we make these investments that will help millions. #housing

We can't #BuildBackBetter without investing in funding for new & existing housing programs designed to address our nation's urgent housing needs. @TwitterNameofCongressperson, you must ensure that housing and services funding are not cut from the bill. #housingcrisis #affordablehousing #homelessness
Thank you for taking this urgent action to urge Congress to have the political will to make these critical investments in our economic future.
