Cambridge Community Television, the nationally recognized community media center, is seeking an energetic individual to facilitate our citizen journalism program and promote the local news and media produced by community members as well as CCTV’s wide array of technology education programs.

This is an exciting position for an individual who loves working with people and building relationships. The ideal candidate will be committed to social justice, local news, and be excited about working in and fostering a diverse, stimulating environment at CCTV. Because we are a small staff of educators, technologists, and artists with varying areas of expertise, the applicant must be flexible and self-directed and able to apply professional marketing and journalism principles in a community environment.

Responsibilities include:
● Recruit, train and support community members to become citizen journalists, addressing important local issues that have an impact on Cambridge
● Create and implement a plan to build the audience for local news and other programming produced by community members
● Promote our media and technology educational programs and classes

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. The successful applicant will possess exceptional interpersonal, customer service, and problem solving skills and will have familiarity with and connections to the Cambridge community. Journalism experience, ease with digital technologies and Mac hardware and software are required, as are demonstrated promotional, social media and solid computer skills. Media production experience is a plus. Knowledge of and experience working in a community that is racially, ethnically, and economically diverse is strongly preferred.
