At yesterday's meeting of the Telecommunications Committee of the City Council, chaired by Councilor Henrietta Davis, City Manager Robert Healy agreed to send the Digital Divide Pilot Proposal to the City Council for approval. The pilot, with a request of approximately $50,000 from the City as well as decommissioned hardware, will provide computers to 50 households in Newtowne Court so that they may take advantage of the free wi-fi provided by the City.
