CCTV is looking for an organized, reliable, and friendly individual to help oversee computerCENTRAL during weekly dedicated drop-in hours for Transition House, a local domestic violence agency. The Intern will be assisting temporary Cambridge women who are homeless due to recent trauma and fleeing domestic violence. A sincere interest in helping women use computers is required, as is sensitivity to the needs and concerns of those new to computers. Must feel comfortable working with a non-profit organization with a diverse constituency. Flexibility and understanding to this unique population will be essential. Training and support around domestic violence issues that may come up will be provided by Transition House. CCTV is looking for an organized, reliable, and friendly individual with Spanish language skills to help oversee our computer lab during the Wednesday evening "Computers for Spanish Speakers" program. These drop-in hours help Spanish speakers overcome the linguistic barriers in learning computer technologies by providing instruction in their native language. A sincere interest in helping people use computers is required, as is sensitivity to the needs and concerns of those new to computers. Must feel comfortable working with a non-profit organization with a diverse constituency. Details & Benefits: • Work 3 hours per week for up to 4 months • Receive free membership to CCTV • Take free classes for the duration of the internship • Production opportunities available • College credit possible • Network with the local video production community • Get valuable teaching experience.
