St. James' Helping Hand Food Pantry was created in 1984 and provides emergency food to 350-400 households per month with one part-time employee and many volunteers. A significant grant comes from Project Bread's Walk for Hunger and most food comes from the Greater Boston Food Bank with help from the Cambridge Red Cross.
