September 29, 2008 - 3:15pm — susanCambridge Community Television is the public access television, cable radio, and computer multimedia center serving the extraordinary city of Cambridge, Massachusetts. Already voted best in the nation seven times, CCTV is seeking a talented staffer to join our team.
We are seeking an energetic, ambitious, creative and mature individual to oversee our membership operations, manage our communications, and promote CCTV’s services and channels to the greater community. If you would enjoy being a cheerleader and proselytizer for a vibrant and dynamic community media center, this may be the job for you!
If you like working with people, have experience with desktop design and publishing, can manage records in Filemaker Pro, are able to set goals, meet deadlines, and maintain a standard of quality that reflects the great work that CCTV does, we hope that you will apply. read more...

Interns Needed for CCTV’s Computer Lab
September 24, 2008 - 11:00am — ColinCCTV is looking for a few organized, reliable, and friendly individuals to help oversee computerCENTRAL during public drop-in hours. A sincere interest in helping people use computers is required, as is sensitivity to the needs and concerns of those new to computers. Must feel comfortable working with a non-profit organization with a diverse constituency.
Knowledge of both MAC and PC computers is required. Interns receive free CCTV Access Membership, which includes media production training and equipment and facility use.
Time commitment is 3 hours per week. Must be available during the following lab shift:
- Thursdays, 3:00 - 6:00 p.m.

Honorary Board, Part III: Supporting CCTV's Mission
September 17, 2008 - 10:10am — JulieAdlerLast but not least, the rest of the group to be inducted tomorrow to CCTV's honorary board includes Jeff Lockwood, George Metzger, Professor Charles Ogletree, Nancy Ryan, Ellen Semonoff and Gail Pettiford Willett. In conjunction with their work at our universities, businesses and community institutions, these local professionals have advocated for CCTV in various ways over the course of our 20-year history.
Short bios for these six individuals and the rest of the honorary board can be found on the 2008 BBQ homepage. Please join us tomorrow at the BBQ to congratulate these individuals and thank them for their continued efforts to keep CCTV and public access strong. And most importantly, help us celebrate our 20th anniversary with lots of great food, entertainment and bidding! Tickets are $45 for adults; $20 for seniors; $18 for children under 12. All proceeds benefit CCTV's youth and special outreach programs. See you there!

Citizen Journalism in an Election Year

In the post, Greenberg offers his perspective on Kilkenny's role - as a citizen journalist - in sharing her story about Sarah Palin. He writes:

Honorary Board, Part II: CCTV's Movers and Shakers
September 16, 2008 - 11:25am — JulieAdlerThe Board of Directors is an integral part of CCTV, helping to oversee and shape the policies and procedures that allow the station to run smoothly on a daily basis. Eight former board members - Robert Boulrice, Joe Douillette, Fred Fantini, Margaret Lazarus, Dyanne London, Susan Richards, Judy Richardson and Simon Shapiro - as well as one former staffer, Rudy Hypolite, will be inducted into the new honorary board at this Thursday's BBQ due to their impressive history of dedicated service to the organization.

Please join us two days from now to help us congratulate these individuals, and thank them for their continued efforts to make CCTV an invaluable community resource, as well as a nationally recognized public access center.
