Beacon Hospice offers free volunteer training in June

Tue, 06/12/2012 - 13:00

Are you interested in making a difference in the life of a terminally ill patient? With just one hour per week, a hospice volunteer can make all the difference in the world. Hold a hand, read a book out loud, enjoy music together or simply share life stories and bring your unique personality to the bedside.

The training covers topics such as: medical aspects of care, spiritual & cultural aspects of care, family dynamics, grief and communication. Our patients live all over Greater Boston (including Cambridge) and many are accessible by public transportation.

Beacon Hospice is offering a comprehensive training program on becoming a hospice volunteer. The training program is scheduled for Tuesdays, June 12th, 19th and 26th from 1-6pm at 529 Main Street in Charlestown. Future trainings are also available. For more information, contact Megan Curtis at 617-242-8370 or visit www.beaconhospice.com.
