The excitement is building (if you'll excuse the pun)! MIT is finishing its base building work at CCTV's new home - we hope to take control of the space on March 1, and then our work will begin. You have read about the new facilities, but there are finer points that are really interesting: because the space is right over the subway, we need a special isolated floor slab in the two live sets and the main studio...to absorb the vibration. We have to take out a portion of the second floor to get the height we need for the studio.....there is going to special acoustical treatment to make the studio a much better environment for recording audio......
