The GreenStreets Initiative is a grassroots organization that celebrates, promotes, and advocates alternative transportation for environmental, health, and community building reasons. The goal is to create safer, quieter, healthier streets for commuters and citizens. It is best known for its monthly Walk/Ride Days - the last Friday of every month - where everyone is encouraged to use alternate transportation, carpool, or rideshare to work, school, or anywhere else.
