Aubree and I met this morning to review our plans for the event this evening. I thought I'd share our notes here, as well.

The evening will start with an introduction of Second Life, or "SL", including more about avatars and how they move around. We'll discuss the different roles that SL play as a meeting space, production format, broadcast medium, and teaching & learning tool.

Next, we'll provide examples of communities in SL, including political, artist, video/film and educational communities. We'll also talk about Machinima and how it might be used for our project at CCTV.

We'll then show how building happens in SL through providing a brief example. We hope this will take us to the point in the evening where we'll present our project proposal to the group . . . which you'll have to come tonight to find out more about!
